On behalf of the Vermont Chapter of the AMTA, welcome to our web site!
Happy 2008!
Can you believe another year has past us? I hope you will look back at 2007 and find only the good times and look forward to this year of 2008 with hope and a promise of good things to come. For those of you who don’t know me, I am Jennifer Smith. I was elected your President at our November annual meeting. I live in Bomoseen and I hope to be as accessible as possible. So, feel free to get in touch and I will try to help if I can. If I can’t, I will find somebody who can.
We as massage therapists from Vermont have several great things to look forward to in 2008. March 27 thru March 30 is New England Regional Conference. Vermont is hosting this year. Our theme is Achieving the Silver, Reaching for the Gold. It is the 25th anniversary of NERC and we are the lucky state to be bringing the fun to all of New England.
Some of the best speakers are going to be attending and teaching for us. Ruth Werner is our Keynote speaker. Having been lucky enough to take many of her classes, I highly recommend you come and hear her speak and take a class. She actually makes pathology fun, if you can believe it.
Myself and our immediate past president Kathleen Fleury will be running hospitality. So, please stop by and visit us. We would love to meet you and get to know you better.
For those of you who aren’t able to join us for NERC, there is also the New York State Convention being held at the Sagamore on Lake George. It will be April 11 thru the 13. Just something more for us to look at and to be able to meet and get to know our fellow massage therapists.
So, in closing, try to get to know others in your profession. It will help you get to know yourself and your profession better and it will help you have a wonderful 2008.
Hoping to Keep in Touch,
Jennifer L. Smith, LMT - VT AMTA PRESIDENT
